A 'Hot Autumn' of anti-cuts activity!

With the announcement of trade union  ballots that could mean 3 million on strike against cuts to pensions in November, people across the country are gearing up to do battle with the government.  This gives the demonstration at the Tory Conference even greater significance. 7pm: Meeting of London Keep Our NHS Public, ‘What next in the campaign to defend our NHS?’ at Somers Town Community Centre, Ossulston Street, NW1 1EE. (Details here.)

Wednesday 21st September

10 am -  3 pm:  A chance to tell the Council Leader, Peter John, your views about the causes of and solutions to the disturbances of last month. Outside Sainsbury’s Dog Kennel Hill. (Part of Southwark Council’s ‘Community Conversations’.)

7pm: Lambeth Keep Our NHS Public Meeting at the Priory Arms, Lansdowne Way. Stockwell, SW8 2BP. It is 5 minutes from Stockwell tube (See map).

Saturday 1st October

10am - 5pm:  ‘Europe Against Austerity and Privatisation’.  Conference organised by Coalition of Resistance.  Wide range of international speakers. Held at the Camden Centre, Bidborough Street, Camden,  London WC1H 9AU (see map). Full details here.

Sunday 2nd October

‘March Against the Tories – March for the Alternative’ – Manchester. Supported by the TUC, several national campaigns and trade unions. Leaflet here. For UNISON and NUT members, contact you local union branch for subsidised coach tickets. Otherwise tickets £20 waged /£10 unwaged. Departs from Elephant & Castle, 7am.
