Lobby Southwark Council this Wednesday 26 FEB

Join us on Wednesday when local people will be lobbying Southwark Council to use its discretionary funds to help those affected by council tax cuts and the bedroom tax, and to campaign with local people against further Government cuts to council funding. Come along between 6pm and 7pm to the council offices at 160 Tooley St, 5 mins walk from London Bridge, and bring your workmates, friends or neighbours with you.

7pm. Annual General Meeting of Southwark Defend Council Housing campaign at St John’s Church Hall in Larcom Street, SE17 1NQ. Map. Main business: Elephant and Castle regeneration scheme and priorities for campaigning over the next 12 months.

Thursday 27 February

10.15am. ‘Axe Clause 118 on Hospital Closures’. Assemble for handing in NHS petition at Downing Street at 10.30. 11am: Rally at College Green outside Parliament. 1pm: Indoor meeting in the House of Commons with MPs (including shadow health secretary Andy Burnham) and campaigners.
