Southwark Action Alert - 16th April 2014

College teaching staff are planning for an all-out strike to save jobs, preserve working conditions and the provision of further education services in Brixton. A few hundred yards away, workers at the Ritzy Cinema are on strike this Friday for the London Living Wage. Elsewhere, NHS, housing and energy price campaigns are planning protests taking place in the coming weeks. Please support them. Dates, venues and contact details are given below.

Southwark Action Alert 31 March 2014

Lambeth College staff are fighting to save the Brixton site from being sold-off. They are also striking on Tuesday over cuts and contracts. This is just some of the action that needs your support during these coming weeks. Resentment among public sector workers over pay and privatisation is also building up. Last week, a quarter of a million teachers struck, in Southwark closing or partially closing more than 60 schools.
