Fight against cuts: Action Update

The enormous anger against the Con-Dems hasn’t gone away, and we have ongoing action in Southwark – Arts students in Camberwell and Adult Learners in Peckham, school students and trade unions also organising for a mass demonstration at Southwark Town Hall on 25th (For details of all of these see Listing below.)

WHAT YOU CAN DO
  • Help with leafleting, and bring your friends/workmates to the events listed below
  • Please consider helping to organise SSOS activities. We need extra people to help with: preparing & printing leaflets; organising teams to distribute publicity; updating Facebook, Blogspot etc.; updating supporters’ contact information; contacting the press; organising funds and other finance; chairing, or taking minutes at our meetings; other stuff. Please contact Chris (0793 9090 667) if you can volunteer for one of the above, or to get further details.
WEDNESDAY 19th JANUARY: March on Parliament to save EMA
4pm: Assemble at Piccadilly Circus; 5pm: March to Parliament Square
Students, education workers and all defenders of the right to education, unite and join the demonstration as MPs debate the end of EMA. Bring your friends, your colleagues and your union banners.

Open to all. Please come. 7pm, Room A3, South Bank Uni, London Rd building. For details including agenda contact Chris on 0793 9090667. Please note invitation above asking for your help in organising our campaigns.

Saturday 22nd January – Leafleting
Join in street leafleting. We need to be publicising the demonstration at Southwark Town Hall planned for 25th   Email: eccles_john@hotmail.com or phone/text John on 07519 811657 to say what you can do.

National Shop Stewards Network Conference, South Camden School, NW1.

Tuesday 25th - Protest at Southwark Council meeting
Assemble 3 pm at Southwark Town Hall, Peckham Road SE15. The protest will then continue throughout the Council meeting which starts at 4 pm.We need hundreds of people outside to tell the Council: 'No Cuts!'

Wednesday 26th – Protest outside Southwark Council meeting discussing EMA
6 pm at Southwark Town Hall, Peckham Road SE15. Support the school students who will address the Councillors at 6.30 pm.
Saturday 29th – Demonstration in London against Education cuts
